It hardly seems possible but all too quickly it's time to pack up and head for home. Shuttle busses were provided by Nick and Jessie to move the guests back to the airport,as they had also been provided to pick the guests up at the airport. The international airport at Liberia (it's pronounced Lee-BEAR-i-a; Lie-BEER-i-a is a country in Africa) is quaint and rather lacking on style, but it gets the job done.
The seating in the gate waiting area is functional but not pretty
Notice the chartreuse tote bag. Each guest family received one at hotel check in. The bride and groom provided them, stuffed with many goodies. I'm loving the bag of Costa Rican Coffee.
The gate waiting area faces out on the landing field The walls are open at the bottom, with no doors, windows or curtains Ah, the advantages of being 80 degrees year round!
When it gets too warm and humid, the big ventilating system takes care of it The real killer was leaving Costa Rica in the low 80's and getting back to Detroit with snow and the low 20's. The reality sunk in very quickly that the journey to paradise was over. I sure can understand why Nick and Jessie are so fond of Costa Rica. I know I certainly would like to go back there again. Just in case, Kevin and I are learning Spanish! |
